In 2019, four artists travelled North America to honor the centennial of The Red Summer Race Riots.
They travelled to 27 cities in 33 days to spread their message of peace, love and inclusion.
Activations were held in each city with: Peace Circles Hip Hop and Street Performances Coloring Sessions Streetwear Along the way they met politicians, community leaders, and everyday people. Their goal was to prevent future race riots by sharing themselves and their artistic gifts.
The Local Legend Crew Apprenticeship Program is a full-time, paid program that runs like a real workplace.
This is not a class or a stipend program, but instead a structured workplace with expectations, weekly and quarterly schedules, and a scaffolded growth plan.

In our home town of Chicago, Cook County spends about $52,000 per year to incarcerate someone*. We employ individuals with backgrounds doing meaningful work to feed their families and heal our city. This is our contribution toward the restorative justice movement.
